Today has marked a very important day for the 2019/2020 first year students. The Matriculation ceremony was held today. This important occasion marks the formal admissions of the students into the University. The students are also enjoined, through the administration of the Matriculation Oath, to be obedient to the Charter and the Statutes of the University and all the other policies that govern it.
While welcoming the students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Geoffrey Muluvi urged the students not to waste the freedom the university set up accords them. It is the freedom to do the right thing even when no one is watching and try the best not to fall into the pitfalls that exist in such an environment.
He also encouraged the eager learners to choose their company wisely and be wary of engaging in vices such as alcoholism, drug abuse and irresponsible sexual behavior because apart from the vices interfering with their academic life, they will largely expose them to the risk of HIV/AIDS.
We wish the freshmen and women a fruitful stay at this university and look forward to them making a triumphant exit from the university at the end of their stay.
