A group of members of the Senate Committee on Education paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Geoffrey Muluvi today. The team led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Dr. Christopher Langat toured the university and gave an address to staff and students.
In his address, the Chairman, urged the students to take full advantage of the location which is away from a lot of distractions to study and achieve their dreams.
He also commended the Vice-Chancellor on his exemplary leadership of the institution for steering the university to its current standing. He added that, having personally visited the institution and seen its potential for growth, he would push the committee to fully support the institution in its efforts towards being a world class centre of excellence.
Hon. Prof. Margaret Kamar, the Vice Chairperson of the Committee proudly spoke about seeing the institution grow from a constituent college to a chartered university.
Hon. Dr. Gertrude Musuruve, a nominated senator representing the Persons living with Disabilities (PWDs) applauded the University for being an inclusive institution that cares about the welfare of the PWDs.
