We were privileged to have the Director General of Kenya National Qualification Authority (KNQA) Dr. Eusebius Mukhwana deliver a public lecture at our institution on the place of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the National Development Agenda.
KNQA which was established in 2014 is the custodian of all Kenyan qualifications and creates international comparability. The Authority also regulates the levels/quality of qualifications, the volume of learning and learning outcomes.
Dr. Mukhwana took us through the almost similar education systems in East Africa and how they all mesh together in instances where a student is transitioning from one educational system to the other.
He also took us through the Training and qualifications framework in Kenya and the roles of the different learning institutions offering different courses.
