SEKU Extends a Hand of Hope to Katangi Special School

South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) successfully conducted a heartwarming outreach initiative to support learners at Katangi Special School, reaffirming the University’s strong commitment to inclusion, equity, and community service.
The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Sarah Ngesu Coordinator, Disability Mainstreaming Unit in collaboration with Dr. Maurine Muleka, Coordinator, National Cohesion and National Values Mainstreaming Unit, bringing together staff, students, and friends of the University in a collective act of compassion and solidarity.
Learners with special needs often face unique challenges that require consistent support from society. Recognizing this, the SEKU community came together to create a more supportive and empowering learning environment for the pupils at Katangi Special School. Through generous contributions and active participation, the University fraternity demonstrated that meaningful change begins with collective action.
The outreach program not only involved the donation of essential items but also provided an opportunity for engagement and interaction with the learners fostering a sense of belonging, dignity, and encouragement among the children.
