For more than 20 years, the international agreements on Gender issues have agitated for an ideal world in which every woman, man; girl or boy has equal access to opportunities, unconstrained by negative social and stereotyping norms. However, Gender inequality continues to manifest itself in many aspects of life including in education, professional and political arena. To achieve Gender Equality, there is need to address drawbacks associated to gender stereotypes, discriminatory socio norms, attitudes and beliefs. As part of breaking these barriers and to change this historical narrative of gender inequality, SEKU is applying a continuous gender lens to monitor all University activities for gender inclusivity. In this regard, the Gender Mainstreaming Unit invites submissions of real time pictures/drawings of staff/students in their everyday lives within SEKU. This competition dubbed “SEKU Gender Equality Lens –Lets SNAP IT” aims to promote gender equality by portraying women and men determined to reshape negative gender stereotypes and traditional gender roles in the Kenyan context
