Students from South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) delivered an impressive performance at the recent Taekwondo Championship organized by the Kenya Universities Sports Federation (KUSF). The highly competitive event brought together talented students from universities in the central conference providing a platform for them to demonstrate their skills, discipline, and sportsmanship in the martial art of Taekwondo.
Representing SEKU with pride and determination, the university’s athletes showcased remarkable ability and resilience throughout the competition. Their strong performances earned the institution several medals and highlighted the growing strength of SEKU in university-level martial arts competitions.
Among the standout performers was Haroun Hassan, who secured a Silver Medal in the Lightweight, Isaac Munyao, got a Silver Medal in the Fin Weight Division and Isaac Nioka earned a Bronze Medal in the Bantam weight Division
SEKU University Management Board expressed immense pride in the team’s achievements. In recognition of the athletes’ hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence, the medals were officially handed over to the participants by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Wachira. During the presentation, he congratulated the students for representing the university with distinction and for upholding SEKU’s reputation in national university sports competitions.
The success of the SEKU team at the KUSF Taekwondo Championship highlights the university’s growing reputation in sports and martial arts. It also reflects the dedication of the student-athletes, the guidance of their coaches, and the continued support provided by the university’s sports programs.
