South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) has successfully concluded a two-day Student Integrity Champions Training held in collaboration with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
The training, launched by rh academic registrar Prof. Peter Njuru, brought together SEKU students for a series of engaging and interactive sessions, aimed at strengthening their understanding of integrity, ethical conduct, accountability and responsible citizenship.
Through discussions, presentations and participatory activities, students explored the importance of ethical decision-making, accountability and transparency in leadership and everyday life. The sessions also encouraged participants to reflect on their role in creating an environment where integrity is valued and unethical practices are challenged.
The training provided an important platform for students to appreciate the role they can play as Integrity Champions in promoting positive values among their peers and contributing to a culture of honesty, responsibility and accountability.
It also emphasized that the fight against corruption requires the active participation of every member of society, particularly young people who represent an important generation of future leaders.
By empowering students with knowledge and practical skills, the training seeks to inspire them to become ambassadors of ethical conduct and to uphold integrity in their academic, professional and personal lives.
The collaboration between SEKU and EACC underscores the University's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote ethical leadership, good governance and responsible citizenship among students.
As the training came to a close, participants were encouraged to put the knowledge gained into practice and to serve as positive examples within the University community and in society.
SEKU remains committed to nurturing a university community founded on integrity, transparency, accountability and ethical leadership.
Together, we champion integrity. Together, we build a better future.
